Meet Neepa
The woman behind the chair
Neepa trained at beauty school in India and opened Aaina in 1998, on Allison Street in Govanhill. The salon moved across the road to Cathcart Road in 2011 and has been there since. 25+ years on, she still runs it with her team.
One of her oldest friends has been coming for years, along with the friend’s mum, her mother-in-law, her sister-in-law, her kids, and her nieces and nephews. Lately their kids have started coming in as well. Most people find Aaina the same way — someone in the family already comes here.
