Threading vs waxing: which is right for you?

How threading works

A twisted cotton thread lifts each hair from the root. Nothing goes on your skin, and the line it leaves is precise. That's why it's the standard for brows and facial hair, and it's the craft Aaina is built on.

How waxing works

Warm wax removes a whole area of hair at once, so it's much faster over arms, legs and larger areas. Prices start at £6.

Skin and sensitivity

Wax takes a thin layer of skin cells with it, which some skin doesn't forgive, especially if you use retinoids or acids. Threading touches only the hair, so it tends to suit reactive facial skin better.

Our recommendation

Face: threading, from £2, and you can walk in. Body: waxing. Most of our regulars use both.
